Gouache on Unstretched Canvas. Began Feb, 2023.

This painting I started in Feb, 2023, whilst I was on my year abroad in Hong Kong. My time in Hong Kong was complicated, I had some brilliant experiences, however due to financial issues it was a struggle as well. My mental health suffered during the latter part of the year and this painting, as well as depicting some of what was going through my mind at the time, also served as a distraction. Painting allows me to occupy my thoughts and distract myself from focusing on the negatives. This painting, somewhat optimistically, has remained unfinished since I returned from Hong Kong. However I do plan on finishing it soon when I have the space to do so.
